Kailin Scott Peoples

CEO/Executive Director

Kailin leads NHSIE as the organization’s CEO. She provides deep subject matter expertise and diversity, equity and inclusion to problem solve, design and deliver strategic solutions in housing. She holds more than 5 years of experience in management and operations, 10 years of experience in communications, and 10 years of experience in program development and community organizing. Her role and experience are essential to improving the productivity and effectiveness of NHSIE as well as providing our best service and support to the community.

Clarice Wilson

HR & Compliance Manager

Clarice has been NHSIE’s HR/Compliance Manager for twelve years and is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource functions for the organization. In addition to HR, Clarice oversees maintenance of NHSIE’s certifications and handles outcome tracking, reporting, and compliance monitoring. Her knowledgeable background and experience are invaluable for teaching workshops and advising clients as well as ensuring staff members satisfy all housing counseling educational requirements.

Cynthia Chaffin

Accounting Support Specialist

As NHSIE’s Accounting Specialist of more than four years, Cynthia has comprehensive knowledge of accounting and audit principles, A/P, A/R, payroll, general ledger postings, invoicing, and regulatory compliance guidelines. She prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual Profit and Loss Statements as well as balance sheets for NHSIE. Her high-level skills in analyzing cost control and providing financial information helps support the overall function of the organization.

Joel Wunderly

Client Relations and Data Lead

Joel performs some of the most essential responsibilities needed for the functionality of the nonprofit as NHSIE’s Client Relations and Data Lead. He manages and troubleshoots NHSIE’s reporting, data collection, and client processing through Salesforce while implementing improvements and new data integrations. With his great time-management and detail-oriented vision, Joel helps NHSIE stay organized through coordinating meetings and appointments for the counselors while also ensuring the organization’s business accounts, website, and social media are updated and maintained.

Kamillah Pollard

Senior Administrative Assistant

As a former intern and support coordinator, Kamillah transitioned into the role of NHSIE’s Senior Administrative Assistant. She provides direct support and administrative assistance to the agency’s CEO while working as a liaison between the executive team and external community. Through her organizational skills, ability to take initiative, and adaptability, Kamillah ensures goals, projects, and meetings are maintained and completed for NHSIE’s executive team.

Damian Duncan

Real Estate and Lending Manager

Damian is the Real Estate and Lending Manager to NHSIE. He entered the real estate and construction industry in 2004 in real estate sales and worked with many asset managers in the disposition sector during the downturn. He received his real estate broker license in 2009 and was then involved in real estate flips and holds. Damian has come onto the NHSIE team to lend his experience in realty to the organization and help its clients set themselves up for sustainable homeownership.

Maria Solis

Real Estate and Lending Associate

Starting off as a volunteer at NHSIE for six months, Maria has continued to support NHSIE for over ten years and currently works as the organization’s Real Estate and Lending Associate. She oversees and reviews packets for down payment assistance eligibility as well as processes, underwrites, closes, and services secondary financing loans. As a licensed Mortgage Loan Originator, she has assisted with over 600 down payment assistance loans for homebuyers seeking to purchase property owned by NHSIE.

Caroline Johnson

Housing Services Program Manager

Caroline leads NHSIE’s Homeownership team and serves as the Housing Services Program Manager. Her expertise in administration, leadership, human resources, management, and social services strengthens her ability to work with clients of all backgrounds and her internal leadership. Her background working with cities, government entities, legal agencies, financial organizations, and state and federal agencies provides a versatile range of knowledge necessary to support clients and help NHSIE work to resolve community issues through homeownership.

Veronica Gonzalez

Housing Services Specialist

With four years of experience of case management in human services and 15+ years of experience in real estate, Veronica comes to NHSIE as their Housing Services Specialist. Veronica has managed real estate property for bank owned possessions, is approved with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and served as an advocate for clients in other nonprofit work. Her customer service skills, bilingual abilities, and familiarity with both real estate and client relations make Veronica a great support and resource to NHSIE.

David Davalos

Housing Services Specialist

As part of NHSIE’s Homeownership team, David supports the organization as a Housing Services Specialist. His background and knowledge from working 10+ years in banking and mortgage consulting and 5+ years in real estate allows him to service and prepare clients in various stages of the homebuying process. David’s organization, customer service, and teamwork embody the necessary skills and values needed as a successful housing counselor at NHSIE.

Kiara Soto

Agency Intake Specialist

Kiara comes to NHSIE as a college graduate from California State University, San Bernardino, and serves as an Agency Intake Specialist. Kiara helps clients take the first step towards homeownership and other support services through guiding them through the agency’s intake process. Her experience helping people in adverse circumstances allows her to understand and connect with clients from all backgrounds as they navigate their way through foreclosure prevention, homeownership, or financial education.

Monica Rivas Rivera

Agency Support Coordinator

Monica assists NHSIE internally and externally as the organization’s Agency Support Coordinator. With over five years of administrative and customer service experience, she helps direct inquiring clients to the correct department for various needs and provides extra support to each department at NHSIE. Monica’s experience in conflict resolution, client relations, and her bilingual ability makes her a dependable liaison between clients and NHSIE.
