NHSIE is heading the Homeownership Preservation Coalition in the Inland Empire to assist families facing foreclosure or looking to resolve their mortgage delinquency situation in both Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
Trained and certified foreclosure prevention counselors are available to assist homeowners. As a HUD-approved counseling agency, NeighborWorks America® affiliate, and HOPE foreclosure prevention agency, NHSIE's goal is to empower the homeowner with the tools and knowledge necessary to improve their financial situation and avoid foreclosure.
Enrolling in NHSIE's foreclosure prevention program:
In order to begin the process NHSIE's counselors will need to objectively assess your current financial situation as well as obtain required authorizations from you. Enrolling in NHSIE's Mortgage Delinquency & Foreclosure Prevention Program requires that you complete and submit a Foreclosure Counseling Starter Packet. You may download this package below or request it from NHSIE's offices by calling (909) 884-6891.
The Foreclosure Counseling Starter Packet is 9 pages and includes the following:
Cover Letter
Counseling Application
Financial Worksheet
Authorization to Release Information - for each lender
Client Privacy Policy & Counseling Agreement
Please complete the package in it's entirety and to the best of your ability. Incomplete packages will not be accepted. NHSIE will be unable to assist you without an accurate and complete picture of your current financial situation and proper authorizations in order to comply with fair lending and privacy laws.

Please keep in mind that all of NHSIE's services are completely free of charge. Beware of scams and fly-by-night agencies that charge $1000-$5,000 or more for services and promises that never materialize. Also keep in mind that no agency, including ours, can guarantee an outcome as the ultimate decision on your case will always be up to the mortgage investor.

In the area of mortgage delinquency counseling, NHSIE counselors have been particularly successful in the area of Loan Modifications. Our goal is to modify the terms of your current loan in order to make the payment affordable in the long-term. If you are considering other possible solutions to your situation, such as Short Sales, Repayment Plans, Forbearance, or Deed-In-Lieu, the counselors can also orient you on those options and/or refer you to another local agency for assistance.
NHSIE is committed to providing a high quality of service to all clients. Therefore, NHSIE reserves the right to temporarily cease acceptance of new applications during periods of high volume in order to ensure that the counselors are optimally servicing their current caseloads.
